The board considered authorization for special services presented as coming from 'Tienal Perkins.' Representatives from the firm introduced themselves: "Chris Schmidt, Tegano and Perkins," said he and noted colleague Matt Atkins was present. Schmidt described services such as site identification, coordination with developers and city staff, engineering support and project-by-project billing.
Board members asked how the working relationship would operate and who would request services; trustees were told the superintendent (referred to as Josh in discussion) would direct assignments and that the firm would bill by specific task and communicate when budget thresholds approached. One trustee voiced concern about unexpected costs, saying he did not "want to wake up one day and we're like, oh, we're $49,000." Schmidt responded the firm aims to be "good stewards" and will notify the district if a budget amendment is needed. Trustees moved, seconded, and voted to authorize the special services.
