Main Street of Fremont reports $391,062 reinvestment, five new businesses and event growth

Lainie Paquette, executive director of Main Street of Fremont, told the council downtown saw significant reinvestment and activity supported in part by CDBG funding.
Paquette said the total reinvestment figure for the year was $391,062, explaining the calculation includes facade and building improvements, new construction totals, volunteer hours (valued at $34.79/hour), grants and public-improvement totals. She reported five new businesses opened, bringing 17 new jobs to the district, and Main Street ran 15 programs and events that drew substantial attendance in the district.
Council thanked Paquette for the report; Councilman Horner noted the reinvestment included private match dollars as well as grants. When the council voted to receive the annual report, the motion carried 8–0 according to the transcript.
