Laura England Biggs, director of Keene Memorial Library, told the council the library had its first full year open after an expansion and reported increased usage across programs, circulation and meeting-room bookings.
Biggs corrected a typographical error in the packet (programming rose from 9,920 in FY2024, not 2025) and said FY25 attendance reached 21,784 across 574 programs. "We added over 1000 new borrowers," Biggs said, and she reported about 1,200 meetings held in library meeting rooms. Council members praised the numbers and noted the project had used a mix of funding, including a $2,000,000 bond issue as part of an approximately $12,000,000 project.
Councilman Jensen moved to receive the library report and Councilwoman Gannon seconded. The motion proceeded to a vote (transcript records the motion and second; a roll-call tally is not printed in the transcript).
