Doctor Bittingham provided an operations update on summer projects, reporting paving work at four sites (Cedar Canyon, Perry Hill Oak View, Maple Creek and Hickory Center), roof replacements at Arcola and Carroll Middle, electrical infrastructure upgrades at Huntertown, and progress on the new transportation center on Hathaway Road where steel and slab work are now visible.
Bittingham said the district's bus inspections achieved a 99% pass rate, with only a minor linkage bolt issue on one bus. He also noted the Compass Learning alternative program will begin the school year with three students and reminded the community to expect changed traffic patterns with more than 80 buses on the road and nearly 8,400 students returning to school.
