Construction update: district reports 84% of bond funds expended, continues repairs after storm damage

"We're looking at 84% of the bonded funds expended," Superintendent (S2) said while reviewing bond expenditures and contingencies. He reported roughly $37.3 million expended to date, a district contingency of about $5 million and a contractor contingency near $200,000. The superintendent said the district will finish current projects before starting new ones and is asking contractors and subcontractors to close punch‑list items.
The board heard about smaller facility items as well, including door‑lock signage, playground equipment installations and plans to add handicap equipment to a playground for life‑skills students. Trustees did not take additional action at the meeting; staff will track remaining bond funds and contractor punch lists.
