GUNTER ISD sets HB3 growth targets for literacy, numeracy and CCMR through 2029

"The goal will be the the percent of our 3rd grade students will score 64% this last year, and that will go up to 73% by 2029 as measured by star readiness," Superintendent (S2) said during the presentation. He also presented targets for early childhood literacy benchmarks (CLL/CIRCLE) and metrics for industry‑based certifications, dual credit participation and military enlistment as components of CCMR.
District materials break the goals into progress‑monitoring steps (e.g., MAP and STAR measures) for kinder through second grade and set numerical midpoints for each year. The superintendent noted some targets are aggressive and that curriculum alignment and targeted interventions will be used to pursue continuous growth. The board approved the goals as presented and will monitor progress at regular intervals.
