Douglasville council denies two claims, councilors cite procedural correction

"I move that the claim be denied as presented," Finance Chair Chris Watts said when presenting the first claim, identified on the agenda as item 20 six-two 65. City Manager Marcia Fraser told the council the items were previously considered on Thursday but were back on the agenda to correct the process; city legal counsel was available for any legal questions.
Fraser reiterated the prior action at the work session: "The action that you all took on Thursday night was to deny this claim as well," she said regarding the second claim, listed as item 20 six-two 66. Following motions and seconds from council members, the mayor announced both motions carried by voice vote.
The agenda documents list the claimants as Daniel Watson Walton (for item 20 six-two 65) and Andrea Borum (for item 20 six-two 66). The council did not offer additional discussion on the merits during the voting meeting and treated the items as procedural ratifications of actions taken at the previous work session.
No dollar amounts, supporting documents or individual roll-call vote tallies were read into the record during the meeting; the mayor announced both denials as unanimous by voice vote.
