Charles Lawson of Lawsona Park addressed the board during citizens' time about a March 14 911 call that he says falsely reported the Old Mill as "engulfed in flames." He asked to meet with the Public Safety Committee to review the Call For Service (CFS) and discuss how to prevent similar calls or unnecessary multi-department responses in the future.
"There were no flames that were visible anywhere," Lawson said while describing the photos he provided to the board. He asked whether the county paid the Marion Fire Department when it responds and requested clarity about dispatch and mutual-aid procedures. The clerk recorded Lawson's request and the board noted the item for follow-up; Lawson asked for a meeting with the Public Safety Committee to review the CFS report.
