Deb Herrold told the board "this is a lot of money" and asked whether the village has pursued grant funding; Mayor Hodges said the village has not obtained grants for the project and that public comments’ time limits can be extended if needed. Resident Alice asked that a termite inspection be completed before a floor is installed if the building proceeds; Trustee Rodney Smith said he planned to inspect and have such work done.
The board did not set a new date to revisit the bid. The lack of a two‑thirds vote kept the bid from being approved at this session, and trustees indicated additional specification and procedural steps remain before a final decision.
