WestCOG staff provide program updates; Pickering reminds municipalities on statutory land-use referral timelines

Multiple WestCOG staff provided brief program updates during the June 18 meeting. Planner Farnaz Kamyab updated the Council on regional housing planning; Senior Data Scientist Nick Trabka reported on the Parcel and CAMA Improvement Grant; Senior Planner Kristin Floberg reviewed the Metropolitan Transportation Plan update; and Senior Planner Mike Wilson summarized the ADA Transition Plan work. Deputy Director Mike Towle provided an update on summer staff for 2026 and on culvert and bridge mapping efforts.
In other business, Francis Pickering led a discussion on statutory land-use referrals sent from municipalities to WestCOG and reminded member towns to allow the statutory time allotment for referrals.
