PG&E opens public comment on dam removal; comments due March 3, council told

Dane Downing told the advisory council that Pacific Gas & Electric has opened public input on a proposed dam removal and an application for Federal Energy Regulatory Commission authorization. He said the public comment period closes March 3.
Downing also reported that Congressman Jared Huffman is collecting constituent information about the impacts of a freeze on federal funds; he said that freeze has affected the Covelo Community Services District by delaying an obligated FEMA/CalOES grant payment, and the timing of when — or if — funds will arrive is uncertain.
Council members did not take action at the meeting on the dam removal or funding issue; Downing presented the items as informational for community members who may wish to submit comments.
