The Village Board approved a 24-hour liquor license for Saint Philip's the Apostle Church for its parish picnic scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 23.
Mayor Hundley presented the item and the council approved the license by voice vote. Later in officer reports the Director of Community Relations (Craig) described several upcoming events and encouraged residents to attend. Craig highlighted "National Night Out" on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Village Green from 5 to 9 p.m., with rides, a petting zoo, a touch-a-truck, and a police vs. fire competition; he pointed residents to the village events website for details.
Craig also previewed Rockin' Wheels weekly concerts and an Eagles tribute event on Aug. 11 and noted participating restaurants and food trucks will be on-site. The board took no additional action on events aside from the liquor license approval.
