The Village Board approved two sewer-related contracts on Aug. 3: an award to Performance Pipelining Inc. for a cured-in-place pipe lining project (bid 26-6-1) in the amount of $33,000 covering approximately 775 feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer on Michigan Avenue and Adams Drive, and an award to Air Construction for large-diameter sewer cleaning (bid 26-6-3) not to exceed $28,200.
Ryan/Bridal said the village received five bids for the Cureton Place pipelining project and that Performance Pipelining was the lowest responsible bidder. "This will consist of lining approximately 775 feet of 8 inch sanitary sewer pipe on both Michigan Avenue and Adams Drive," he said. Staff reported references and qualifications were checked and returned favorable results before the recommendation to award.
On the large-diameter cleaning contract, staff said Air Construction had performed similar service for the village in previous years and staff recommended awarding the work. Bridal noted that cured-in-place pipe typically "lasts around 50 years," which factored into the village’s assessment of investment value. Both contract awards were approved as recommended.
