The City Council unanimously approved the city’s invoice request from MnDOT to cover Long Prairie’s share of the Trunk Highway 287 mill-and-overlay project in the amount of $77,484.33. City Engineer Kent Louwagie presented photos and project context and the council approved the invoice on a motion by Council Member Lilah Gripne, seconded by Council Member Clint Krueger.
Council members noted an earlier agreement to invoice the school district for half of the crosswalk portion of the project; the estimated school district share is $22,082.68 and will be invoiced after the project is complete. Work on Hwy 287 is scheduled to start June 6 with completion expected in mid-July.
