Council approves $8,089.73 payment for Riverside Park improvements

The Long Prairie City Council on May 28 voted unanimously to pay Pay Application No. 2 to contractor Jeff Leyk for Riverside Park improvements, in the amount of $8,089.73. City Engineer Kent Louwagie reported that about 90% of phase one work has been completed and that the project is funded in part by a Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (LCCMR) grant.
Council members discussed minor turf issues and modifications to the LCCMR grant to reflect completed work. The council approved the pay application on a motion by Council Member JoAnn Schroeder, seconded by Council Member Lilah Gripne. The engineer said remaining park work will continue as planned and that final accounting will be adjusted as grant paperwork is modified.
