Quay County Extension Agent Jason Lamb and Extension Home Economist Erin Smith presented the July–September 2025 Extension Service quarterly report, which covered 4‑H involvement at the New Mexico State 4‑H Conference, county fair activities, a 4‑H rodeo fundraiser, youth programming and community outreach including Farm Safety Day and food preservation classes.
The report recorded participation numbers: Quay County sent 10 senior members to the 2025 NM State 4‑H Conference; 65 volunteers and fair board members worked a fair workday; 49 youth were assisted with livestock projects at the county fair; and 142 third graders participated in Farm Safety Day held at the Guadalupe County fairgrounds. The report also described ongoing Strong Seniors exercise programming (31 enrolled for the fall session) and food preservation classes with 13 participants. Several youth qualified for higher-level competitions, and judges/volunteers supported fair and rodeo events.
