Quay County approves bridge-design amendment, construction proposal and reports road maintenance activity

Quay County commissioners approved a Second Amendment to the Cooperative Project Agreement for design work on Bridge 1042 and approved a construction proposal from Rymark Construction (Quay Rd AF LWC). Road Supervisor Quade Fury presented a road update describing ongoing maintenance: crews are mowing, blading, performing maintenance and posting weight-limit signs across Quay County as needed.
The motion to approve the Second Amendment and the Rymark proposal was made by Commissioner Brian Fortner and seconded by Commissioner Dallas Dowell; the record shows Rush, Fortner and Dowell voting "aye." The Second Amendment to the NMDOT cooperative agreement extends the term to allow completion of 30%, 60% and 90% design phases through a new termination date and requires coordination on deliverables and requests that the county coordinate with NMDOT for necessary federal-aid milestones. Quade Fury noted the county has submitted 30% plans and requested a grant extension to December 2026 to complete design work.
The board approved the construction proposal and related amendment, and the minutes show correspondence with NMDOT and contractor documentation attached to the meeting packet.
