Orange Glen highlights CTE and student achievements; culinary and print programs showcase hands-on learning

Orange Glen High School presented career-technical education (CTE) highlights to the district board on Dec. 17, showing how programs such as culinary arts and the print shop provide both technical skills and work-based learning.
Principal Michael Santos said roughly one-third of Orange Glen students are enrolled in CTE classes and described a robust culinary arts sequence with food-handling certification and a campus-run Patriot Cafe. Students Ingrid Cardoso (culinary) and Ian Coak Lejour (print shop) spoke about skills gained: Cardoso noted teamwork and time management she expects to use in a nursing career, while Ian described designing and printing uniforms for the school's fire-rescue cadets.
The board sampled student-made treats and acknowledged the programs' role in workforce preparation and student engagement; trustees commended the students for linking classroom learning to potential career pathways.
