The Escondido Union High School District Board of Education approved its slate of officers for 2025 and formally swore in two trustees during its Dec. 17 regular meeting.
The board moved to approve the officers and voted to install Bob Weller as president, Ryan Williams as vice president, Bill Durney as clerk, with David Vincent and Christy Knight serving as members. Superintendent Jon Peterson administered the oath of office to Christy Knight and Ryan Williams, using certificates from the San Diego County Registrar of Voters confirming their Nov. 5, 2024 election results.
"And thank you to the Escondido community for their faith and trust in both myself and board member Williams to continue to serve in this capacity," said Christy Knight after the oath, expressing appreciation to voters. The board called for the vote after the motion and second; trustees and student board members registered their approval and the motion passed.
The organizational actions were taken early in the meeting following a student musical performance and a presentation recognizing Orange Glen High School's student of the month.
