The Harvey County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously June 10 to adopt Resolution 2025-17, appointing Pamela Thomas as the county appraiser effective July 1, 2025. Commissioner Terry Scott moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Becky Reimer seconded; the motion passed with all three commissioners voting in favor.
County Administrator Kevin Frymire’s agenda packet states that "the current Harvey County Appraiser is Pamela Thomas, and she is an eligible Kansas Appraiser, listed pursuant to K.S.A. 19-432 by the director of property valuation of the Kansas Department of Revenue." The packet cites K.S.A. 19-430 as the statutory authority directing counties to appoint a county appraiser to a four-year term.
Under the motion, Thomas’s appointment will take effect July 1, 2025, beginning the statutorily prescribed four-year term. The appointment action was fast-tracked on the consent of the commission during the regular meeting; no public comment on the appointment was recorded.
The commission record shows the motion was made by Terry Scott and seconded by Becky Reimer and approved unanimously. The agenda materials and resolution text were included in the meeting packet as supporting documentation; the resolution is identified as Resolution 2025-17.
