Lilburn adopts $27.44 million FY 2026–27 budget, approves Five‑Year CIP

The approved budget sets the General Fund at $15,045,291. Departmental appropriations listed by Finance Director Sherrie Smith include the Police Department at $5,326,697 and Public Works at $3,256,294; other line items include Community Development at $738,905 and Finance at $692,040. The budget also allocates funds across capital and special revenue accounts, including $4,928,900 in the 2023 SPLOST fund and $788,500 for the Downtown Development Authority (Fund 700).
Councilmember Mike Hart moved to adopt the budget and Councilmember Emil Powella seconded; the motion passed 4-0. The roll call recorded unanimous approval among the four voting councilmembers. Adoption of the budget finalizes spending plans for city operations, public safety, and planned capital projects included in the Five-Year CIP.
The council’s approval allows staff to proceed with the fiscal year’s scheduled projects and operating programs. The City Clerk’s record (approved July 13, 2026) and the ordinance number 2026-671 provide the formal legal authority to implement the plan.
