Board recognizes students from Bear Valley, Central and Rose for 'student excellence' awards

Board members recognized student achievements from three schools. Bear Valley Middle School Principal Jason Rieske presented the school's year‑one redesign, new learner profiles and extracurricular expansion, then introduced recipients of the Bear Valley student excellence awards: Tessa Hauskins (6th grade), Lila Silsbee (7th grade) and Anastasia Tran (8th grade). "Tessa Hauskins exemplifies the EUSD learner profiles," Rieske said as he described students' leadership, collaboration and growth mindset.
Central Elementary and Rose School also presented highlights of school culture and recognized students for leadership and academic contributions (Central recognized Marlee/Marley, Isaac Rios and Melanie Velarde; Rose recognized Aaron Vara, Angela Vasquez Castillo and Jaslyn Hernandez). District leaders and trustees thanked the students, families and staff and applauded the schools' focus on belonging and student voice.
