Kimber Solberg, director of the Sheridan County Fairgrounds, told the commissioners on May 4 that the open-class book for the county fair is available and highlighted program changes such as a teddy-bear dress competition and a pie auction. She said livestock and youth participation are increasing even as open-class and horticulture entries fluctuate, and that the fair is being promoted through outreach and media to raise attendance.
Solberg described organizers’ efforts to reverse perceptions of decline by expanding youth and livestock outreach and strengthening promotional channels for the fair’s 250th celebration at the historic pavilion. No board action was requested; Solberg’s briefing was an informational update ahead of the fair season.
