Board discusses sanitary district rates and water capacity; no rate increase in FY2027 budget

During discussion after the budget presentation Supervisor H. Joseph Easter asked whether the proposed FY2027 budget contained a rate increase for the Sanitary District. County Administrator Eric S. Pollitt answered that the current proposed budget does not include a rate increase. "The current proposed budget does not include a proposed rate increase," Pollitt said.
Board members discussed the possibility of establishing consistent, inflation-indexed sanitary system rate adjustments to support long-term funding for water system maintenance and expansion. Staff agreed to research comparable rates in surrounding localities and continue coordination on water system capacity planning and school well repairs.
