Ida Echeverria reviewed the district's LCAP metrics and actions, highlighting improvements in reclassification rates for English learners and slight gains in AP pass rates and CAST science scores, while noting math performance remains a concern. She explained the plan is a three‑year cycle with 31 metrics and that the state extended the usual Feb. 28 reporting deadline to March 31 this year because of fire‑related disruptions.
Echeverria explained the state's new equity multiplier funding (for schools with high nonstability and socioeconomic disadvantage rates) will be used this year at Fernando Ledesma to expand course offerings, provide targeted instructional materials and implement mentoring/engagement strategies to help students meet graduation requirements. For the community day school, funds will target behavioral supports and campus supervision where suspension rates had driven concern. Trustees asked for site‑level disaggregated data (EL subgroup, chronic absenteeism) and staff said principals and site teams are already reviewing subgroup metrics to shape next year's LCAP revisions.
