The New York State Assembly met in floor session and advanced several items on its A calendar before adjourning to reconvene at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19. Speaker pro tempore and members outlined the day's floor schedule and committee movements, including Ways and Means and Rules producing an A calendar for action.
Miss Peoples Stokes opened the session with a brief reflection and an agenda overview, saying, "It always seems impossible until it's done," and asked members to note that joint budget subcommittee meetings would continue at 4:30 p.m. She also told members majority members should expect a conference once floor work concluded. The Assembly adopted routine procedural motions to dispense with reading the journal and to advance the A calendar.
The Clerk read consent-calendar items and rules reports, and several bills were called for final section readings or laid aside for later consideration. After completing the day's business, Miss Peoples Stokes moved to adjourn and noted the Assembly would reconvene the following morning; the motion carried and the House adjourned.
