The Independent School District #775 (KMS Public Schools) board on May 11 approved the meeting agenda and routine consent items, and accepted two staff resignations slated to take effect in December 2026.
Chair Todd Rudningen called the meeting to order at 7:55 p.m. and the board approved the agenda with an adjustment to principal reports on a motion by Harmon Wilts and second by Jeremy Winter; the motion carried 7-0. The board also approved the April 13, 2026 minutes (motion by Winter, second by Carle Olson; 7-0) and approved bills and electronic funds payments on a motion by Wilts, second by Olson (roll call names recorded in the minutes).
On personnel, a motion by Winter, second by Sean Collins approved letters of resignation from Gina Kelly Wilts, described in the minutes as an elementary teacher, and Martha Schemmel, described as a cook helper, both effective December 2026. The personnel motion passed with a 6-0 vote; board member Harmon Wilts is recorded as abstaining. The minutes do not state a reason for the abstention. The minutes identify Carle Olson as clerk signing the record; earlier in the attendance list the name appears as 'Carla Olson,' which the minutes themselves do not reconcile.
