The motion to approve the Controller contract was made by Joell Miranda, seconded by Jay Zapzalka, and passed 5–0 with Jeremy Nelson absent.
The contract sets salary at $66,950 for 2026–27 and $68,958.50 for 2027–28, describes position responsibilities (payroll, bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, budget monitoring, audit workpapers), and provides 18 vacation days per year. Insurance provisions specify fully covered single health care or $10,500 family coverage for the 2026–28 years if the employee enrolls; the district agrees to HSA contributions of $2,500 (single) or $3,000 (family) for employees eligible for an HSA. The agreement also describes eligibility for the district’s matching retirement benefit plan and sets out grievance, suspension and arbitration procedures consistent with district policy and statute.
The contract language permits up to two days per week remote work with a flexible arrangement and requires the Controller to serve a nine-month probationary period followed by standard protections under the agreement.
