Hill City accepts principal resignation, janitor retirement and several community donations

The board also recognized the retirement of long‑time janitor Tom Semler, effective June 15, and thanked him for his years of service maintaining school facilities.
Board members approved a resolution accepting three donations to the district: Hill City Lions Club — $500 for the senior class trip; Northland Lions Club — $1,500 for junior high (JO) volleyball; and Hill City Fire Department — $750 to support prom. The donations were introduced as part of the consent agenda and adopted by unanimous vote (Yea 5, Nay 0, Absent 1).
The board’s recognition statements and the approved resolution were recorded in the minutes; the district thanked both employees for their service and noted that the gifts will be used for the purposes specified in the resolution.
