Bushnell Prairie City board approves tentative 2025–26 budget, records personnel changes

At its Aug. 20 meeting the Bushnell Prairie City CUSD 170 Board of Education approved the 2025–26 tentative budget for public display, accepted multiple personnel resignations and hires, declared two vehicles and two lathes surplus, and authorized an imprest fund increase; enrollment reported at 560 PK–12 students.
The Bushnell Prairie City CUSD 170 Board of Education met Aug. 20 in the high school LRC and approved the 2025–26 tentative budget for public display following a roll call vote that recorded Aye: McCleery, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Hess and No Nays. Superintendent Gound reported that “enrollment is currently 560 Students PK-12.” The board also approved a slate of personnel changes and several administrative housekeeping items.
During the meeting President McCleery appointed Allen Thompson as secretary pro tem, the board declared a 2009 International school bus and a 2005 Toyota van surplus for sealed-bid sale and marked two wood lathes obsolete for disposal, and voted to increase the high school imprest fund from $5,000 to $6,500. The meeting adjourned after an executive-session period; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 17, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the High School LRC.
