The Odessa School District #105 Board of Directors on Aug. 28 approved several personnel actions recommended by Superintendent Steve Fisk, including hiring Steve Helland as a bus driver and Haley Friesen as junior-high volleyball coach.
Board members recorded a unanimous vote on multiple staffing and compensation items. The board approved the 2024–25 Union Exempt Classified Salary Schedule and ratified Extra-Curricular/Extended Contracts for the coming school year; motions carried 5-0. The board also approved the school nurse contract for 2024–25.
Superintendent Fisk presented the personnel slate to the board; the hire motions were moved and seconded as recorded in the minutes and approved without dissent. The approvals put seasonal coaching assignments and classified salary steps into effect before fall activities begin, and the district’s human-resources calendar and payroll will reflect the newly approved contracts.
The board’s personnel approvals followed routine checks and recommendations from administration; the district’s minutes list the hires, contracts and motions with recorded movers and seconders. No salaries for individual hires were specified in the public minutes.
