The board reviewed a special event permit application and fee for Honey Fest 2026, scheduled for Sept. 19, and took the permit application under consideration.
President Tina Shingleton said the pavilion stage will be removed and that she will work with Streets & Roads staff to find a portable stage when one is needed. Shingleton also referenced Illinois America250 commemorative meetings and suggested the village might display a flag at the pavilion; the board was presented sample prices (around $50) and asked trustees to check Amazon or local suppliers for lower-cost options.
The minutes do not record a formal vote to purchase a flag or to approve the Honey Fest permit at the Nov. 4 meeting; both items were presented and discussed as part of committee and event planning.
