Playground mulch placed in August; village announces Honey Festival and CPR training

President Tina Shingleton reported the village placed new mulch at the playground on Aug. 6; the Playground Committee will meet this month to perform an inspection. The board did not record any follow-up motions but directed the committee to inspect the equipment.
The board also announced community events: the Honey Festival is Sept. 6, and the Rural School Reunion potluck will be held Sept. 27 at Christian Youth Camp (doors open at 11:00 a.m.). Clerk Leslie Yambert said Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District will offer CPR/First Aid/AED training in November and that the Clerk will coordinate the session for the Emergency Disaster Committee.
