President Tina Shingleton presented an email from IML Risk Management about a sample Early Return to Work policy intended to allow employees with partial incapacity from work-related injuries to remain on payroll. The minutes record that the policy must be adopted by September, but after discussion the board decided to postpone action and asked the Village Clerk to contact Anne Binette at IML Risk Management with questions; the board plans to address the item again at the August meeting.
The record shows the village legal counsel reviewed the sample policy but trustees chose not to adopt it at the July 1 meeting. There was no motion to adopt; the board explicitly placed approval on hold pending clarifications from IML Risk Management.
