The Bristow City Council on Nov. 3 authorized the city attorney to pursue Options to Purchase at appraised values for three parcels needed for the Heartland Industrial Additions. The motion, made by Councilmember Judd Johns and seconded by Councilmember Joe Church, passed by unanimous roll call.
City Attorney Beth Anne Childs summarized recent project planning and engineering changes, saying Hub Engineering proposed keeping the existing north-side water line within current easements while placing new sewer infrastructure on the south side of W. 221st Street South, where the city will purchase easements. Childs told the council the Spencer property is under agreement to sell and that a company will locate on the site once acquisitions are completed.
The council authorized offers for parcels identified in the minutes at the following appraised values: Dena and Howard Hinshaw (34853 W. 221st St. S.) — $180,000; Kent McCabe (34599 W. 221st St. S.) — $165,000; Donald and Kimberly Cheatwood (34521 W. 221st St. S.) — $190,000. Childs noted two city employees own north-side parcels; one owner is agreeable to sale, the other is not.
Council direction recorded included exploring a five-year option and an initial $1,000 consideration to secure negotiation rights. The authorization directs the City Attorney to proceed with offer documents and follow up on easement acquisitions needed to construct sewer infrastructure on the south side of 221st.
