The board unanimously approved Contract Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $690,173.62, adopted Resolution 26-1684 authorizing an amendment to the FY 2025/26 budget, and adopted Resolution 26-1685 approving final acceptance and authorizing the General Manager to file a Notice of Completion for the FY 2024/25 Gravity Sewer Improvements Project (#958) with Glosage Engineering, Inc.
General Manager Steve Moore and Senior Engineer Benedetti said the project expanded from approximately 2.5 miles to over three miles of rehabilitation, and more than five miles when combined with related projects. Benedetti attributed the balancing change order primarily to unforeseen field conditions, including extensive pipeline sags, rock excavation and additional paving requirements imposed by the County. Staff said the work produced significant operational improvements, including reduced infiltration and inflow and mitigation of known problem areas.
Board members discussed project scope and budget overages and approved staff’s recommendation to reallocate available funds consistent with District financial policies.
