At its Jan. 5 meeting the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle School District Board approved a consent agenda covering routine designations and administrative authorizations. "It was moved by Wolf and seconded by Zahnow to approve the following Consent Agenda," the minutes record; the motion was carried unanimously. The consent package named the Long Prairie Leader/El Lider as the official newspaper for 2026; designated American Heritage National Bank as the payroll depository and Minnesota National Bank as the accounts payable depository; and approved a set of investment locations including Mid-Central Federal Savings Bank, the MN School Districts Liquid Asset Fund, Magnifi Financial, PMA Financial Network and Ehlers.
The board also authorized district office personnel to make electronic transfers and authorized the superintendent to use facsimile signatures on district checks after board authorization, contact legal assistance when appropriate, employ day and specialized labor, and work with the fiscal auditor on year-end transfers to address operating fund deficiencies. The consent agenda included a resolution directing administration to recommend reductions in programs and positions; that resolution was approved as part of the consent package.
