The Ross Valley Sanitary District board voted unanimously May 20 to authorize Task Order No. 9 to the Master Services Agreement with Nute Engineering, Inc., for design and engineering services during construction (ESDC) on the Force Main 33 Replacement Project (#965) in the amount of $362,233.
General Manager Steve Moore provided an overview of the proposed design contract and Senior Engineer Benedetti said the scope includes coordination with subconsultant Delve Underground for specialized horizontal directional drilling analysis and support for permitting through multiple regulatory agencies. Benedetti told the board the project is complex because of environmental sensitivity, permitting requirements and construction constraints at the Corte Madera Creek crossing.
Directors Michael Boorstein and Thomas Gaffney moved and seconded the motion; the vote was 5–0. Staff advised the work is identified in the District’s asset management plan as addressing a high‑risk force main crossing to improve long‑term reliability and reduce the risk of failure.
