Interim principal reports kindergarten graduation, field trips and upcoming training

Interim principal Shawn Klimek told the board that students and staff in grades K'6 had several field trips during May and that Kindergarten graduation was held May 20 in Tiger Arena. Klimek said new staff will attend Responsive Classroom training this summer and reading staff will attend Functional Phonics/Functional Morphology training.
Klimek also described administrative changes to track and approve teacher Flex Day hours and said teachers are planning to pilot math curricula for the 2026'2027 school year. There was no vote on these items; they were presented as part of the principal's report to keep the board informed about end-of-year activities and professional development plans.
