Village Director Nick Gottwalt told the Board on Sept. 3 that he has applied for a Solid Waste Assistance Grant through the Rock Island County Waste Management Program to help offset solid-waste and curbside-recycling charges for village residents. "The total potential grant is $1,846.00," the minutes record.
Gottwalt did not indicate when the county will announce awards or how the village would allocate funds among households if awarded. The application was presented as a new-business item and was included on the consent agenda approved by trustees that evening.
