He noted the district is separating athletic budget lines between pupil-activity and general fund to allow programs to raise revenue and offset costs. "Playoff bonuses is 20,000 of that," he said while explaining supplement adjustments.
Board members questioned the addition of coaching roles and increases in coordinator counts, expressing concern about travel and practical need. One board member said additions should be justified amid rising travel costs as region assignments increase travel distances; Mr. Petty offered to provide year-to-year coach-supplement lists and per-athlete expense analysis.
