Residents complain of multi-year parking problems, missed notices and hazardous manhole cover

Residents raised several neighborhood concerns during the public-comment period. Lisa Gigliotti and Tony Valtri said certified notices about parking had been sent to the wrong address and that enforcement has not resolved ongoing parking violations on Johnson Ave; Valtri said he was "frustrated that this is been going on for three years and nothing is being done." The minutes record that police had been to the site numerous times without a lasting remedy.
Another resident reported a manhole without a cover near the bridge and unfilled potholes; Mr. Pelura said he would report the manhole and remind Public Works to fill the potholes. Township officials characterized the Johnson Ave parcel as a lot owned by the township rather than an official street, which Mr. Pelura said limits police authority to issue tickets. The committee indicated it was attempting to find a solution acceptable to both parties and characterized the matter as a civil issue in some respects.
