The Richfield School Board authorized proceeding with the Richfield High School stadium storage building project on Aug. 3 after administration reported a cost increase to $474,964.35. The presenter (identified in the meeting as Craig) said the increase reflects switching to a Sourcewell/Gordian purchasing agreement and additional site work required after geotechnical review.
"The amount also increased to $474,964.35," Craig said, adding that "previously, it was $398,000," meaning roughly a $75,000 change driven by purchasing-agreement differences and extra site work. He said plans have had preliminary authorization from the city and that formal permitting still needs to be completed. Treasurer Haley Tompkins moved to authorize proceeding; the motion carried with three aye votes recorded.
Craig noted one anticipated small change order tied to additional electrical work and identified Solid Rock Construction and the Sourcewell/Gordian contract vehicle as part of procurement considerations. The board recorded the authorization and directed administration to complete permitting and return with updates on any contract changes or change orders.
