During reports at the July 27 meeting Mayor Tim Kemp relayed several community notices: the council is invited to Stutsman's dinner on August 6, there will be an open house at the poor farm in Iowa City on August 8, and a food bank plans to bring a mobile food pantry to Hills monthly beginning August 5 from 4:00 to 5:30 PM.
Mayor Kemp also said John Green emailed to see if council members or staff would be interested in joining a committee to meet with Greater Iowa City to discuss data centers. No council action was taken on the invitation; the item was reported for awareness. The transcript does not indicate who will staff or lead the committee if interest is identified.
Council also discussed management of the Hills Paw Rescue Facebook page and said Hills Paw Rescue will meet to talk; Council Member Hudachek noted the page is run as a business page and will look into posting permissions. The meeting adjourned at 7:43 PM.
