District begins multi-year playground renovation planning, aims to finish by Summer 2027

District Chief School Business Official Janiece Blake told the board on Nov. 14 that the district has begun planning playground renovations and met with Gail White of White and Borgognoni to outline a phased approach. Blake said the work has not been addressed in some time and that the vendor will work with individual schools to balance staff and student preferences with accessibility and safety needs.
"The plan is to work with individual schools to get feedback from administration, staff and students to find a blend of equipment that they would like to see that also meets the needs of all students," Blake said. The minutes record a tentative schedule of completing one playground per summer with an estimated program completion by Summer 2027. The board did not vote on funding at the Nov. 14 meeting; Blake said further planning and school-level input are the next steps.
