Board reviews refined vision-card metrics and asks for continued feedback

District leaders told the board the vision-card update aims to reduce redundant reporting and better align metrics with the strategic plan adopted in December 2021.
"We wanted to reduce some of that duplicative, reporting data that the board receives," an assistant superintendent said, describing the DAPI process (drop, add, keep, improve). The presentation proposed adding a community survey and a senior exit survey to capture post-secondary readiness data, and recommended keeping metrics that track safety, belonging and college- and career-readiness.
Board members responded with questions about metric baselines, differentiation by grade level and how the vision cards would surface "so what" for the public. Staff offered a five-minute pause for board members to choose a card and provide initial comments and said a shared Google Doc would remain open for ongoing input. Staff said the data-and-assessment team will pilot refined cards later this winter and present them back to the board for approval.
