District outlines five-part principal recruitment process, seeks stakeholder participation

The St. Anthony–New Brighton School Board heard an update on principal recruitment at its Jan. 20, 2026 work session. Laurel Anderson of CESO said the district is establishing "the five work sections being established" for the recruitment process and will invite community members and staff to participate on stakeholder groups to shape interview questions and recommendations.
Board members were told certified and non-certified staff, union leadership and community representatives will be included in the process so that final hiring recommendations reflect input from across the district. Chair Cassandra Palmer and other board members asked for regular updates throughout the recruitment timeline. No formal action was taken; the item was presented for discussion and planning.
