At the May 11 meeting the Laporte Public School District board approved a modified summer schedule: Monday through Thursday ten-hour days with Fridays closed, and the district closed the week of July 4. The motion to adopt summer hours was moved by Andrew Graham, seconded by Anna Clyde, and approved by unanimous roll call.
The board separately authorized Superintendent AJ Dombeck to post any positions that open and specifically directed him to post bus driver opportunities for the 2026–27 school year. Both authorizations were approved by unanimous vote (motions led by Andrew Graham with seconds by Karl Beck and Anna Kanani, respectively). These actions give district administration delegated authority to begin hiring and recruitment before the next board meeting.
