Board approves $551,812.45 in April bills, accepts multiple resignations and a retirement

Board Chair Jacqueline Meyer called the Laporte Public School District Board of Education to order at 6:00 p.m. on May 11, and the board unanimously approved the district’s monthly bills for April. The board recorded checks 54201–54409 for $159,164.45 (less voided check 54320 for $130.00) and ACH/wires totaling $392,778.40 for a grand total of $551,812.45.
During the same motion the board accepted several personnel changes: the resignation of Sylvia Johannes as a 5th grade teacher effective May 22, 2026; resignation of Time Formo as junior high baseball coach; acceptance of Carol Quinn’s retirement as middle school history teacher effective at the end of the 2025–26 school year; the resignation of Wendi Tysver as a night custodian effective April 17, 2026; Joel Hamilton’s resignation as a bus driver effective May 8, 2026; and Dennis Clark’s resignation as a night custodian effective May 15, 2026. The board also approved a resolution to accept donations. The motion was made by Andrew Graham and seconded by Anna Kanani and passed by unanimous roll call.
