At its Oct. 24 meeting, the Carbondale Elementary School District board approved multiple personnel actions including resignations, paraprofessional hires, after-school staff and an LPN nurse.
The board accepted resignations from Delores Todd (EOC Aide, Carbondale Middle School, effective Sept. 23, 2024) and Leah Flores (Instructional Aide, Carbondale Middle School, effective Oct. 18, 2024). The board approved employment of paraprofessionals Tomeka Parker (EOC Aide at Lewis School, retroactive Sept. 24, 2024), Verissa Frierson (Instructional Aide at Carbondale Middle School, retroactive Oct. 15, 2024) and Machelle Gee (Library Aide at Thomas School).
The board also approved after-school paraprofessionals for Parrish School (Clariss Hill, Kelly Weberling, Raushana Davis, and Maliyah Wooten retroactive to Oct. 9, 2024) and for Lewis School (Tomeka Parker retroactive to Oct. 8, 2024). Dr. Renada Greer moved, and Stacye Saunders seconded the motion approving Candice Newman as an LPN Nurse at Parrish School retroactive to Oct. 15, 2024, pending a clear CBI. The board approved special assignment Mariana Rojas for Student Council at Carbondale Middle School.
All personnel motions were carried by roll-call or voice vote with unanimous support. The motions included standard contingencies such as pending licensure and clear criminal background checks.
